Jeff Passan of ESPN reports that the Mets have re-signed Brandon Nimmo to an eight-year, $162 million contract.
Outside of Aaron Judge, Nimmo was widely considered the top outfielder on the market this offseason. There were a number of team interested in the 29-year-old, but regardless, he stays in Queens.
Nimmo enjoyed, yet again, another impressive season, finishing with 16 home runs, 64 RBI, and 102 runs scored with an .800 OPS over 151 games. He will surely be atop the Mets lineup come April.
Steve Cohen, job well done.
