The Nationals are signing free agent right-hander Trevor Williams to a two-year contract, Mark Zuckerman of MASN reports. The specifics of the deal have yet to be released.

Williams was a pleasant surprise for the Mets last season, posting a 3.21 ERA in 89 2/3 innings across nine starts and 21 relief appearances.

The 30-year-old likely will fight for a spot in the Nationals starting rotation. It’s his fourth team, entering his eight big league season.

The free agent took to twitter last week in hopes to get some traction around his name. “Black Friday Free Agent Sale! Today only! 2 for 1 Deal: Buy one Trevor Williams the RHP and also get Trevor Williams the LHH Corner Outfielder!” Williams wrote.

Well, it worked like a charm Trevor.
