The Giants have clinched a playoff spot but Saquon Barkley still wants to be on the field come Sunday.
The 25-year-old said, “unless Dabes [Brian Daboll] tells me differently, I’m playing.”
It sounds like Barkley is prepping to play in Week 18, but that can and will change any day now.
The Giants are already locked into the six seed in the NFC, leaving them nothing to play for in Week 18. The Atheltic’s Dan Duggan believes the starters will be rest.
Despite Barkley’s comments, it’s almost impossible to envision him seeing a full workload vs. the Philadelphia Eagles. The Giants haven’t been accustomed to winning much in the past, but Brian Daboll has, so expect him to rest ALL of his starters on Sunday.
Big Blue will travel to either Minnesota or San Francisco in the first round of the Wild Card Playoffs. It will be the Giants first playoff appearance since 2016. New York has not won a playoff game since 2011, when they defeated the Patriots in the Super Bowl.
