The Mets and Tommy Pham have agreed to terms, according to SNY’s Andy Martino. Jon Heyman reports that it’s a one-year, $6 million contract.
The club has not confirmed the deal.
When it does, Pham will be joining his sixth big-league team overall and fourth in the last two seasons.
The 34-year-old split 2022 between Cincinnati and Boston, hitting .236 with 17 home runs and eight stolen bases in 622 plate appearances. He had the highest strikeout rate of his career while setting career lows in walk rate, on-base percentage and slugging percentage.
However, some metrics show that Pham could be due for a bounce-back in 2023. While it was a down season, the veteran still has strong exit velocity numbers. His 92.2 mph average exit velocity ranked in the 93rd percentile of all big league hitters.

At and elder age, Pham is mostly limited to left field at this point in his career — he has just 91 innings in center field an seven in right field since 2018.
He likely projects as the Mets fourth outfielder heading into Spring Training.
