(New York, NY) – There’s no shortage of speculation as to the future of Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins.
Since being drafted out of Clemson, Higgins has been a productive NFL player, as part of one of the league’s more explosive offenses. Of course, the team also employs one of the league’s best receivers in Ja’Marr Chase – and with Higgins entering the final year of his rookie contract next season, some figure he’s bound to be traded.
But Higgins would be happy to stay in the Queen City “hopefully for a long time,” as he explained to the NFL Network. He was asked about fans putting up photoshops of him in other uniforms and said “I plan on being in Cincinnati for a while.” Of course, the Bengals have plenty of contract considerations beyond just Higgins – including the need to work out a long term extension with QB Joe Burrow.
“I love Cincinnati,” Higgins said. “You know great city, great people, great fans. But great organization, everybody inside the organization. I would love to be there for my whole career.”
Higgins finished second on the team in yards (1,029), catches (74), and receiving touchdowns (7) this past season.
As of today it appears the 24-year-old will be staying put in Cincinnati.
