(New York, NY) — Are you feeling lucky? Because the Raiders surely are, even if their odds haven’t *technically* become better.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Raiders have the same exacts odds to win the Super bowl with Jimmy Garoppolo and Derek Carr (40/1.)
The Raiders filled their quarterback need by inking the former 49er to a three-year, $72.75M contract. NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport, Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero reported the news Monday. $34 million is guaranteed. The move reunites Jimmy with Raiders’ HC Josh McDaniels, and marks a new chapter in the 31-year-old QB’s career; first a Tom Brady backup, then the man (and subsequently, mostly due to injuries, fall man) in San Fran, and now QB1 in Vegas.
In 57 starts, Garoppolo has completed 67.6% of his passes for 14,289 yards, 87 TDs and 42 interceptions. Despite his impressive 40-17 career record, it’s fair to wonder how much of an upgrade over Derek Carr he is.
That being said, there is room for this team to improve, as they do have the #7 pick in the upcoming draft. There’s definitely time to place your bets on the Raiders now, if you think they have a real shot.
