(New York, NY) — Bradley Beal finds himself the subject of a police investigation after a postgame incident with a fan.
The three-time all-star had a complaint filed against him on March 22, which was around 24 hours after the Wizards’ 122-112 loss to the Orlando Magic.
According to TMZ Sports, Beal was walking toward the Wizards’ locker room when a fan dropped an f-bomb on Beal, costing him $1,300. He continued to curse out Beal.
It appears Beal knocked the hat off one of the hecklers in response and called the comment disrespectful. He went on to express his lack of care for the fans’ bets or parlays, adding “that ain’t why I play the game.”
The arguing lasted around 50 seconds before the fans and Beal were broken up.
The heckler whose hat was knocked off claims Beal hit him in the head, which led police to file a report for battery. Police are also said to have “enough probable cause to charge Bradley with ‘simple battery,’” TMZ Sports reported.
An attorney for Bradley Beal told the online news site that “we are cooperating with the investigation and [Bradley’s] name will be cleared soon.
