(New York, NY) — Is it time for the league to panic?
A few teams are shuddering at the thought of the Eagles bolstering their offense with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, beginning Thursday in Kansas City.
The player that is striking fear is Texas running back Bijan Robinson; they believe it would make the Eagles’ offense “beyond scary,” NFL Network’s James Palmer reported Monday.
“There are a lot of people around the league that believe this pick would change their offense… the thought around the league is this would be a very difficult offense to stop,” Palmer added. “The interest is real.”
Philadelphia, which holds the 10th and 30th overall picks in the draft as part of six total selections, is in need of a RB.
Robinson said during a Tuesday appearance on “NFL Now” that he was encouraged after meeting with the Eagles and Buccaneers, who have the No. 19 overall pick.
“That’s a great organization [with] great coaches,” Robinson said. “… So I kind of see where that’s… headed at… But obviously, like I said, for me, we just don’t know… anything can happen.”
The explosive former Longhorn is, by many, projected to go No. 8 overall to the Falcons, per ESPN’s Jason Reid.
If the 21-year-old lands with Philadelphia, he would instantly become the No. 1 option in the backfield, and his pairing with Jalen Hurts would truly be nightmarish.
Robinson is widely considered to be the top running back in the draft class – compling 1,894 scrimmage yards in 2022, and being named an AP First Team All-American.
