(New York, NY) — A future Yankees captain?

Legendary Yankees captain Derek Jeter has been a “girl dad” for five years. Now, he and wife Hannah Jeter are the proud parents of a bouncing baby boy. Jeter announced the birth of little Kaius Green Jeter on Instagram, saying “Welcome to the world lil man!!” adding the date “5-5-23.”

Notoriously private concerning their family, the Jeters had not publicly disclosed Hannah’s pregnancy. The couple is also raising daughters Bella Raine, 5, Story Grey, 4, and River Rose, 1.

The 48-year-old has playfully noted his dad status on social media previously, captioning a photo “HELP!!!” in which he was getting his nails done by Bella and Story. Last year he told Extra he’s traded in the baseball mitt and bat for ballet lessons, tennis lessons, and pick up/drop-off at school.

Jeter is a five-time World Series champion, a 14-time All-Star and a Baseball Hall of Famer. In February 2018, he called becoming a father “by far the most gratifying thing I’ve ever been a part of.”

“You always hear people say, ‘Wait until you have your own kids,’ but it really is true,” he said. “I couldn’t be happier. I’ve been blessed to have two beautiful daughters, and I’m looking forward to seeing them grow each and every day.”

After founding The Player’s Tribune in 2014, Jeter was part of the ownership group that purchased the Miami Marlins in 2017. He’s since stepped down as team CEO and joined Fox Sports as an MLB analyst this year.
