(New York, NY) — Yankees pitcher Carlos Rodon’s injury may be more questionable than originally thought.

The southpaw still hasn’t taken the mound for New York after suffering a forearm strain during spring training.

Rodon’s wife, Ashley, calls a new report on Rodon’s injury “bulls–t.” The report came from Jomyboy’s “Talkin Yanks” podcast and mentioned how Rodon may not pitch for the Yanks at all this year.

“Don’t get your hopes up for Rodon pitching this season…some people are just like ‘eh, I don’t think it’s gonna happen,” Jomboy said.

He said this information comes from sources within the Yankees organization. If this is true, this would be a pretty tough pill to swallow. And it doesn’t sound that crazy.

That and “chronic” back issues have led to Rodon’s strain recovery being a slow burn as he has to be cautious in his rehab. Rodon recently added agility drills to his rehab routine down at the Yanks’ player development complex in Tampa. His debut with the Yankees was further postponed due to a back issue after Aaron Boone then revealed that Rodon couldn’t “get over the hump with his back.”

The next step for Rodon is an injection akin to a cortisone shot this week. “It really sucks,” Rodon said Friday, “It’s hard to sit here and not be doing it and talking to [reporters].”

Rodon signed a six-year, 162-million-dollar deal with the Yankees prior to the season.

The Yankees have used 13 injured list stints so far this season, the second-most in the league behind the Mets.
