NBA: Playoffs-Boston Celtics at Atlanta Hawks
(New York, NY) — With the NBA Finals around the corner, it isn’t too late to start blockbuster trade rumors.
According to The Athletic’s Jovan Buha, the Lakers have discussed a trade for Hawks guard Traw Young.
While front offices are always speaking about the potential of getting certain players in their building, this Young to L.A. report is particularly interesting.
Young was in attendance for the Lakers’ Game 4 loss to the Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals. He also happens to be a client of Klutch Sports, like Lakers forward LeBron James.
Regardless of the rumor’s feasibility, it is hard to imagine a team who mortgaged its future on Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook, having any chance to land a star of Young’s caliber.
Atlanta is also a team that has made it to the conference finals with Young and traded assets of its own for Young’s backcourt mate, Dejounte Murray, meaning the prospect of Atlanta trading its franchise player is hard to grasp alone.
Young has been reported to have had turmoil with coaches in the past but appears to work well alongside head coach Quin Snyder who was a mid-year hire for the team.
Giving Snyder along with Young and Murray a full offseason to mesh, maybe the plan for Atlanta before tearing apart its roster for a rebuild.
