NBA: Milwaukee Bucks at Detroit Pistons
(Milwaukee, WI) — A star player is hitting the open market.
ESPN reports Khris Middleton has declined his 40-million-dollar player option with the Milwaukee Bucks to become a free agent.
NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski reports a return to the Bucks on a new deal remains a possibility.
Middleton, 31, is coming off an injury-plagued season that limited him to just 33 games. The three-time All-Star averaged 15.1 points and 4.9 assists.
The veteran underwent successful surgery on his right knee shortly after Milwaukee’s first-round playoff exit to address the lingering issue.
Middleton has spent 10 of his 11 seasons with the Bucks after being drafted by the Detroit Pistons in 2012.
He had several big playoff performances in 2021 to help the team win their first NBA championship in 50 years.
