(New York, NY) — The Giants are looking to add depth to their linebacker core.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports free agent LB Anthony Barr visited with the Big Blue on Thursday, but no deal is imminent.
The news comes just a week after General Manager Joe Schoen said the team wouldn’t be meeting with the 31-year-old veteran.
Barr recently visited with the Saints but left without a contract. ESPN’s Dianna Russini reported that the Saints were expected to sign both Barr, but the linebacker wants to take additional visits before settling on a new team.
Now, the former Vikings and Cowboys linebacker will look to see if he and the Giants can come to an agreement on a deal to take him off the market.
Last season, Barr totaled 58 tackles and one sack with the Cowboys while appearing in 14 games. Injuries have plagued the four-time Pro Bowler over the last several seasons, but he still adds valuable depth when healthy.
