SEATTLE — Jamal Adams is nearing his return to the Seattle Seahawks.
According to head coach Pete Carroll, Adams is “as close as you can get” to playing in Week 3.
“The plan is for him to have a full week of regular practice and take all the reps that we can get him. That means no restrictions,” Caroll said. “I don’t foresee any problems with that.”

It doesn’t sound like Adams is a lock to go on Sunday, but Carroll also added that he is very likely to play in Week 4 against the Giants if he’s unable to go this week.
Adams has yet to suit up for a game this season, but is clearly nearing a return. The veteran severely injured his quad while rushing Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson in the first half of the Seahawks Week 1 win last year.
During Tuesday’s Brock and Salk on Seattle Sports, former NFL quarterback Brock Huard discussed Adams’ eventual return, and what makes it so exciting.

“I’d sure like see him play WILL (weakside) linebacker,” he said. ” … What does that do then? I thought Jordyn (Brooks) was your WILL linebacker? He’s playing pretty well at WILL linebacker. So do you move Jordyn to MIKE (middle) on some third downs? Does Bobby (Wagner) want to come off the field in those situations? Or do you put Jamal in the spot that (linebacker) Devin Bush was in a lot Week 1, which frankly didn’t work great in your three-linebacker sets with three backers out there?”
For now? Stay tuned.
