PHILADELPHIA — Jalen Hurts revealed he is dealing with a knee injury after Sunday night’s 31-17 win over the Dolphins.
The Eagles quarterback told reporters that he put a knee brace on his left leg at halftime, but wouldn’t go into any detail about a potential injury. He came out of the locker room as the second half kicked off but didn’t miss a snap.
“I feel fine,” Hurts said. “Happy how we responded, especially coming off of last week. It was a great opportunity and a great team win. That’s a great team out there. I have a lot of respect for them. I think we played really good complimentary football. Negative plays with the fumble by me — I can’t have that.
When asked how he felt physically, Hurts didn’t provide much detail. “I’ll be fine,” he said after the game.
When asked whether he believes it will affect him moving forward, he responded “I hope not.”
Despite minimal detail, Hurts was noticeably hobbled several times throughout the night. The 25-year-old also gingerly trotted off the field after conducting the postgame interview.
“You all saw that he was going through a little something. So he is tough. He is tough, tough, said Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni. “This game always comes down to physicality and toughness. Always does. No matter what. Because it’s hard, and that’s physical and mental toughness, and Jalen Hurts has both.”
A dat later, Ian Rapoport is reporting Hurts’ knee injury “is nothing that would keep him out of a game.” According to Rapoport, “there is a good chance” the injury won’t even sideline Hurts in practice.
This appears to be a non-issue for Hurts or the Eagles as they prepare for Week 8 against the Commanders.
