CLEVELAND — Nick Chubb (knee) underwent a second surgery to repair his torn ACL and is on track to return in 2024, the team announced in a statement.
Chubb tore his MCL in Week 2’s loss to the Steelers. However, it was later announced he also tore his ACL and would need a second surgery.
Having now had that second procedure, the Browns running back is officially on the road back, with Dr. James Voos saying he has progressed well.
We don’t when the start running back could make his return, but according to the Browns, he will be able to return to play during the 2024 season.”
Backup Jerome Ford has filled in well for Chubb, as has the re-signed Kareem Hunt. The Browns are tied for third in the NFL in rushing yards with season with 1,331 and have rushed for more than 100 yards per game in five of the teams’ past seven games.
