KANSAS CITY — Patrick Mahomes brother, Jackson, is winning over Chiefs fans. That may have seemed impossible in the past, given his annoying social media antics. But that’s all going away after he helped others during Wednesday’s horrific shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade.

“I don’t care what anyone says but I have found a new found respect for Jackson Mahomes,” X user @jess6mami posted Wednesday. “Ana and I were stuck hiding with him at union station by the trains and he was taking care of a child who lost his parents and helping him calm down.”

The tweet has since gone viral, accumulating nearly two million views. And while the X user didn’t elaborate beyond that, the story about Jackson is being praised and shared — with many expressing shock Jackson was even there. There’s been some reported fallout between Mahomes and his higher-profile brother.

Randi Mahomes, mother to Jackson and Patrick Mahomes, then responded: ‘What a scary unthinkable day.. thankful you all were together for those moments. As i mom i want to thank you. Jackson was able to get the child to the police for help. Blessings to you.”

One person died and at least 22 others were injured during the Chiefs’ parade in Kansas City. Nine children were included in those hurt, with gunshot wounds. Hopefully Jackson’s act will not be forgotten among what was an otherwise devastating day for the Kansas City community.
